To randomly select n
columns from a DataFrame, use the DataFrame's sample(~)
method.
Examples
Consider the following DataFrame:
df = pd.DataFrame({"A":[2,3],"B":[4,5],"C":[6,7],"D":[8,9]})df
A B C D0 2 4 6 81 3 5 7 9
To get 2 columns randomly from df
:
df.sample(n=2, axis=1)
D B0 8 41 9 5
Note that a new copy is returned, that is, modifying the returned DataFrame will not mutate the source DataFrame.
