Pandas Series.to_frame(~)
method converts a Series to a single-column DataFrame.
WARNING
Modifying the returned DataFrame will mutate the original Series, and vice versa.
Parameters
1. name
| object
| optional
The label assigned to the sole column of the resulting DataFrame. If the source Series
has a name, then specifying name
will override it. By default, name=None
.
Return Value
A DataFrame
with a single column.
Examples
Basic usage
Series without a name
Converting Series
without a name:
s = pd.Series([2,3])s.to_frame()
00 21 3
Notice how the column label is set to the default integer index 0
.
Series with a name
Converting Series
with a name:
s = pd.Series([2,3], name="A")s.to_frame()
A0 21 3
Notice how the column label is set to the name of our Series.
Specifying name parameter
Converting Series using the name
parameter:
s = pd.Series([2,3])s.to_frame(name="B")
B0 21 3
Note that even if s
had a name here, the column name would overwritten to be B
.
