Pandas DataFrame.abs() method returns a DataFrame with the absolute value applied to each of its values.

Parameters

This method does not take any parameters.

Return Value

A new DataFrame with the absolute value applied to each of its value.

Examples

Basic Usage

Consider the following DataFrame:

df = pd.DataFrame({"A":[-1,2], "B":[3,-4]})
df
A B
0 -1 3
1 2 -4

To convert all negatives to positives:

df.abs()
A B
0 1 3
1 2 4

Note that the source DataFrame is left intact, that is, df in this example would still have negative values.
