NumPy's np.char.lower(~)
method takes as input an array and returns a NumPy array with the elements converted to lowercase.
Note that the original array is left intact, and a brand new copy of the array is returned.
Parameters
1. a
| array-like
The input array whose strings you want converted to lowercase.
Return Value
A NumPy array with the strings of the input array lowercased.
Examples
np.char.lower(x)
array(['a', 'b', 'c'], dtype='<U1')
