Numpy's np.char.upper(~) method takes as input an array and returns a Numpy array with the elements converted to uppercase.

Note that the original array is left intact, and a brand new copy of the array is returned.

Parameters

1. a | array-like

The input array whose strings you want converted to uppercase.

Return Value

A Numpy array with the strings of the input array uppercased.

Examples

x = np.array(["A", "b", "C"])
np.char.upper(x)
array(['A', 'B', 'C'], dtype='<U1')
