Python's set(~)
constructor creates a new set from the given iterable.
NOTE
Only distinct items in the iterable are added to the set.
Parameters
1. iterable
| iterable
| optional
The iterable from which to create a new set.
Return value
A set object constructed from the iterable. If no iterable is provided an empty set is returned.
Examples
To create a new set from the distinct values of the favorite_languages
dictionary:
favorite_languages = { 'bob': 'french', 'emma': 'spanish', 'david': 'english', 'silvia': 'french', }
{'english', 'french', 'spanish'}
Note that 'french'
only appears once in the returned set as only distinct elements are added.
