expand_more The Tag.parents
property returns a generator used to iterate over the parent tags.
Examples
Consider the following HTML document:
my_html = """ <div id="people"> <div id="profile"> <p>Alex</p> </div> </div>"""soup = BeautifulSoup(my_html)
To print the id
of the parent elements of <p>Alex</p>
:
profilepeople
Notice how we had to first check whether the parent tag contains the id
attribute. Beautiful Soup's top-most level element does not contain the id
attribute, so without this check, an error will be thrown.
