To initialize a Numpy array of zeros, use Numpy's ones(~) method.
To create a flattened Numpy array with 3 ones:
np.ones(3)
array([1., 1., 1.])
To create a flattened Numpy array with 3 ones of type int:
np.ones(3, int)
array([1, 1, 1])
