To check whether a NumPy array contains an instance of a particular row we can use the tolist(~)
method.
Example
Consider the following 2D array:
array([[5, 6], [7, 8]])
To check whether the above array contains the row [5,6]
, first we convert the NumPy array to a standard Python list using tolist(~)
:
a = np.array([[5,6],[7,8]])a.tolist()
[[5, 6], [7, 8]]
Next we use the in
operator to check whether [5,6]
is part of the converted Python list:
[5,6] in a.tolist()
True
Here we can see that [5,6]
is indeed a row in the original array.
