Numpy's ones(~) method returns a Numpy array filled with ones.

Parameters

1. shape | int or tuple of int

The desired shape of the resulting array. If an int is provided, then a 1D array is returned.

2. dtype | string or type | optional

The desired data type of the returned identity matrix. By default, dtype=Float64.

Return value

A Numpy array filled with ones.

Examples

Creating a 1D array

To create a 1D array of size 3 filled with zeros:


        
        
            
                
                
                    np.ones(3)
                
            
            array([1., 1., 1.])

To create an 1D array of ones with type int64:


        
        
            
                
                
                    np.ones(3, dtype="int64")
                
            
            array([1, 1, 1])

Creating a 2D array

To create a 2 by 3 two-dimensional array:


        
        
            
                
                
                    np.ones((2,3))
                
            
            array([[1., 1., 1.],
