MySQL's CURTIME(~) method returns the current time in the session time zone.
Parameters
1. fsp | number | optional
The fractional seconds precision, that is the number of digits to use to store microseconds.
This can take the range 0 - 6. Defaults to fsp=0.

String context
To return the current time in session time zone:
SELECT CURTIME();

Numeric context
To return the current time in numeric context:
SELECT CURTIME() + 0;
+---------------+| CURTIME() + 0 |+---------------+| 154042 |+---------------+
Fractional seconds
To specify the fractional seconds precision:
SELECT CURTIME(6);
+-----------------+| CURTIME(6) |+-----------------+| 14:37:55.079657 |+-----------------+
We can see that microseconds (part after the .) is returned to 6 digits precision.
