MySQL's MAKEDATE(~) method creates a date based on the provided year and day of year.

Parameters

1. year | number

The year for the date to be made.

2. dayofyear | number

The day of year for the date to be made.

Return value

A date YYYY-MM-DD based on the provided year and day of year.

Examples

To create a date based on the 75th day of 2020:

SELECT MAKEDATE(2020, 75);
+--------------------+
| MAKEDATE(2020, 75) |
+--------------------+
| 2020-03-15 |
+--------------------+

To create a date based on the 400th day of 2020:

SELECT MAKEDATE(2020, 400);
+---------------------+
| MAKEDATE(2020, 400) |
+---------------------+
| 2021-02-03 |
+---------------------+

To create a date based on 0 day of year:

SELECT MAKEDATE(2020, 0);
+-------------------+
| MAKEDATE(2020, 0) |
+-------------------+
| NULL |
+-------------------+

Note that NULL is returned for dayofyear=0.
