Examples

String context

To return the current date and time:

SELECT SYSDATE();

+---------------------+
2020-04-26 23:53:34
+---------------------+

Numeric context

To return the current date and time as a number:

SELECT SYSDATE() + 0;
+----------------+
SYSDATE() + 0
+----------------+
20200426235413
+----------------+

Fractional seconds

To specify the fractional seconds precision:

SELECT SYSDATE(6);
