MySQL's COS(~) method computes the cosine of the argument in radians.

Parameters

1. X | radians

Number given in radians.

Return value

The cosine of the input number.

Examples

Basic usage

To return the cosine for π / 2:

SELECT COS(PI()/2);
+-----------------------+
| COS(PI()/2) |
+-----------------------+

+-----------------------+

To return the largest integer equal to or smaller than cosine for π / 2:

SELECT FLOOR(COS(PI()/2));
