MySQL's POWER(~) method returns the value of X raised to the power of Y.
Parameters
1. X | number
The number to be raised to the power of Y.
2. Y | number
The power to apply to X.
Return value
The value of X raised to the power of Y.
Examples
Positive power
To return 5 to the power 3:
SELECT POWER(5, 3);
+-------------+| POWER(5, 3) |+-------------+| 125 |+-------------+
Negative power
To return 2 to the power -3:
SELECT POWER(2, -3);
+--------------+| POWER(2, -3) |+--------------+| 0.125 |+--------------+
