MySQL's TAN(~) method computes the tangent of the input value in radians.

Parameters

1. X | radians

Number given in radians.

Return value

The tangent of the input number.

Examples

To return the tangent for π / 2:

SELECT TAN(PI() / 2);

| TAN(PI() / 2) |
+----------------------+

+----------------------+

To return the tangent for :

SELECT TAN(-PI());
+------------------------+

To return the largest integer equal to or smaller than tangent for :
